Edit from the future: It turns out I was pretty far off on the carapace on the sprite hydralisk drawing, it should really look like this from the side. Oh well!
The top pair are, of course, the Hydralisk and Zergling as they appear in the cinematics of Starcraft & Brood War. The bottom two are my reconstructions of the models used to render the in-game sprites. And, hey, there's a tiny bit of animation, because, why not.

If you want to see an analysis of the hydralisk sprite, I made one as preparation/research before doing the drawing that you can check out here. The one idea for the sprite hydralisk that isn't based on SCBW is that I added just the face and yellow eyes of one of the Starcraft: Ghost designs, but there are a couple other inaccuracies. The spines on the side of the tail go up much higher on the original sprite. None of my drawings are perfect!
I'll probably end up putting just the cinematic hydralisk and the sprite zergling into the next iteration of the Starcraft: To Scale project. Those were the designs that made it into the original Starcraft manual, so I sort of think of those two as being the official ones.

(perdón por no escribir en ingles) personalmente pienso que los zergs de antes daban mas miedo que los de ahora, incluso siendo mas sobrios estéticamente. el artificialismo de los zergs de ahora los hacen nada aterradores. pero me gustan tus trabajos! son geniales!
